About Arshneel Kochar, MD

Arshneel Kochar, MD, is a staff physician in the Cardiac Electrophysiology and Pacing Section of The Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in the Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. He sees patients at Main Campus.

Specialty Interests: Catheter ablation of complex arrhythmias, including atrial fibrillation, typical and atypical atrial flutter, endocardial and epicardial ventricular tachycardia, PVCs, supraventricular tachycardia, and Wolf Parkinson White syndrome; device-related therapies, including implantation and extraction of transvenous and leadless pacemakers and defibrillators, conduction system pacing, biventricular implants and left atrial appendage occlusion; virtual second opinions

Experience: Dr. Kochar has performed more than 1,000 electrophysiology procedures, including complex ablations of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, device implants, device extraction and left atrial appendage occlusion.

Dr. Kochar is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, nuclear cardiology and echocardiography.

Education: Dr. Kochar received his undergraduate degree from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU), Cleveland, through the Pre-professional Scholars Program in Medicine, graduating magna cum laude and earned his doctorate of medicine with distinction in research from CWRU School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, then returned to Cleveland for a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Cleveland Clinic. He finished his training there through a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology.

Dr. Kochar joined the Cleveland Clinic medical staff in 2023 on completion of his fellowship.

Research, Publications and Speaking: A dedicated researcher, Dr. Kochar is the primary author and coauthor of papers published in leading peer-reviewed cardiology and electrophysiology journals, focusing on clinical outcomes and innovative techniques, including ablation of arrhythmia without the use of fluoroscopy. He also has coauthored chapters on catheter ablation and ventricular tachycardia for cardiovascular medicine review textbooks.

Dr. Kochar has presented numerous research abstracts at national and international meetings, including American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society. He is dedicated to advancing knowledge in his specialty and is pursuing a master’s degree in clinical research from CWRU.

The nurse that met with me prior to my visit with Dr. Kochar was very respectful and informative. Dr. Kochar was also the best. Very patient with me and took the time to explain what my treatment options were, and what to expect going forward.
